Results 10-43 (23%) -$21.00 (10-3-3)
Yesterday, Demagoguery burned up any good will he had with the racing public, turning in a dull effort as the $1.50 favorite in the seventh. Cape Cod Lady scratched in the eigth. Run Sully Run also failed as the $1.10 favorite. So it goes...
Today, in the interest of improving my record (which has been dismal lately) I'll give you a selection in every race. I'm going back to basics, looking for a handful of confidence building winners to put my handicapping back on track. Here we go....
1st - Next Wonder (PP4). Ray Tamargo Jr. like his old man, tends toward serious intentions whenever he's got an entry. Next Wonder had a rough first start last week at 3-1 and managed a good finish. Looks like he'll improve today. Seven year old maiden???
2nd - Line Euro (PP6). Raced forwardly with Lookinforthesecret on 12/22 in ALW NC. Back where he belongs today. Tricks of Glory for second.
3rd - Fortunate Prince (PP5). The Prince can put up a par 70 for Fontana whenever asked. Shipping in from GP on 6 days rest, Lopez up. All systems are go!
4th - Running Princess (PP1). High winning %, big figs intermittently. Ready to ring in the new year with another win.
5th - Brittany's Honour (PP5). Fontana pulls all the stops on this one. She carries 108 lbs. today with winless Kifer up. Stretches out after dueling in the stretch at 7F two races ago and then tightening up at 5F on 1/3. 6.5F looks just right. Price looks right too!
6th - Nantucket Red (PP5) Off the grass. Drops down for Bennett. Great record. Who else?
7th - Max Ahead (PP3). Mello and Rosendo team up for a "third time overs a charm" front running winner. Looks to shake a couple of others off in the backstretch for the wire-to-wire win. Can do.
8th - Even Par(PP5). Not a sucker horse just yet. Zwiesler and Centeno iron out the problems today for the win.
9th - Racing Quality (PP5). Showed speed at 1 1/16 mi. Working well. Another chance this afternoon.
10th - Show Boatin' (PP2). Ness drops down for the win. He's great with second starts at TBD. Last was four lengths above par. Centeno rides.
Good luck and good racing!
