Tampa Bay Downs Selections - 12/18/07

Results 0-4 ($8.00) (0-1-0)

On Saturday, Fizzy Pop disappointed after getting decent support at the windows ($6.20-1). I'm not making excuses for the 3YO gelding. He was just plain uninterested. Nobody can keep a handicapper confounded like Carl J Cooper. Stay tuned to see if Cooper can put the Pop back in the Fizz. I bet he can.

Today, I'm expecting results from Dale Bennett in the 2nd with Devil Slam (PP3). Bennett is deadly with long layoffs and the Devil is in the details with Devil Slam. The youngster showed some talent with an above par performance at 7/8ths of a mile after being claimed by Montesano last February, drops for the first time into claiming company (another Dale Bennett strength) and now appears ready to graduate from the maiden ranks.

In the 8th, Dale Bennett strikes again with another long layoff. Look for Zara's Storm (PP8) to be ready to go. The 4YO gelding has been working well and will be finishing strongly for win number two after accruing eight seconds in twenty two starts, including three at Tampa Bay Downs.

Good luck and good racing!
