Tampa Bay Downs Selections - 01/22/08

Results 11-53 (20%) -$37.80 (11-4-5)

The drought continues...yesterday my selections were among the top three choices at the window in 8 of 10 races (and the favorite in three) and all but one disappointed. At times like this, I'm glad there are seventy race days remaining, each one another chance to get it right!

For Tuesday:

1st - Bobbie's the Best(PP3) is right back. Hand ridden in her last and easing at the wire while winning by 5, Bobbie looks like a repeater this afternoon.

2nd - Northernbamagirl (PP5) drops from wide open to rock bottom to break out of the maiden ranks after 6 ITM from 14 starts. Deserves the nod.

3rd - Beau Classic (PP4) is in front after a mild rally at 6.5F 10 days ago. Won at the distance at TBD last year. Winless Mary Bennett will get on the board with Homeister up.

4th - Well Documented (PP4) - Another dropdown who deserves a shot, W.D. flashed speed at 1 mi on the turf on 1/4 and has had a nice rest. Ready today in C10N3L. Ferraro and Montalvo mean business this afternoon.

5th - Yankee Injunuity (PP7) - A big effort in last out, shortens up a 1/16th and is entered for a tag for the first time in a year. Improves today. JC Ferrer rides.

6th - Let It Rock (PP9) - Adds L1 and Blinkers after two above par efforts. Cotto brings it home for Hicklin today.

7th - Colonial Silver (PP9) - No one can hold on to this beauty. He keeps winning and putting up big figs. A significant dropdown, only question is if Cimini brings him to TBD ready. I say yes!

8th - Lucky to Cope (PP8) - raced against superior horses in last two and improves today with all the speedballs duking it out up front. This field is hardly as impressive as they seem to be.

9th - She's Due for One (PP4) and so am I. Flashed speed in last and returns to turf for the second time. Looking to top that performance and can.

10th - Hanging in There (PP8) and so am I. Route to Sprint works for Andrade today. Has decent speed in a race with only ???????? My choice.

Good luck and good racing!

Johnny B.
