Results 29-110 (26%) -$22.40 (29-12-16) (52% ITM)
On Thursday, a profitable day. Sheng lodged a mild rally and was beaten squarely by two longshots, finishing third in the second. My infatuation with Miss Hobie ended when she finished fifth after being well placed with no rally in the fourth. In the seventh, Backtracken prevailed, paying $11.40, reminding me that, sometimes, it still pays to make your own figs. In the ninth, Divine Wonder won like a champ and paid $4.60. So it goes...
This afternoon, a soft wager in the fifth. Ravencliff (PP2) looks tough to beat off his win two weeks ago in ALW N1X. The price will be prohibitive though. Sly and Sticky (PP3) is a solid performer who may salvage the play. I'll make a cold exacta 2-3.
In the sixth, a soft wager. Follow Orders (PP10) has been consistent in his three lifetime starts with respectable figs. What will he do in 5 panels? It's worth a shot. Delaware Diamond (PP2) completes the exacta box.
In the seventh, a soft wager. Drinkwater (PP11) will win if he goes. Last was really tough. Prior race he put up a monster fig at the same distance on the grass. Rahoo (PP4) may get a piece, let the board do the talking with Rahoo.
In the tenth, Jared'stemper (PP10) gets a prime wager. I had him on top in last when he almost stole it at 11-1. Positive ROI for Joe Cheeks in the Dirt to Turf and Sprint to Route angles.
A solid play.
In the eleventh, a soft wager. Chromystic (PP5) raced evenly in his first over on 1/15. Put up some big figs last season. Velez rides again. If I'm ahead at the end of the day Chromystic gets a moderate win bet.
Good luck and good racing!
