Results 35-130 (27%) -$38.40 (35-14-19) (52% ITM)
I went one for three on Thursday and my first race exacta box clicked for $50.80. Silver Peagus came right back and won by five lengths, paying a paltry $3.40. Call Me Pete tried to wire the field at $3.50-1 off the layoff, but gave way in the stretch. Watson I Need You pressed the pace and had nothing left for the drive, disappointing many as the $1.20-1 favorite in the tenth.
Just a note of interest, congratulations to Ide Be O for Ten on winning the ninth race on Thursday. The 9yo gelding was 1-87 going into Thursday's N2L race. Is this the end for Ide Be O for Ten or is this the start of something big?
On Friday, a fairly competitive card and a chance to make some green.
1st - Exacta box 2,4,5
2nd - A soft wager, Straight Glitter (PP8) lost at least four lengths after steadying on the backstretch in last at 6F, 40 days ago in open 6250 company. Drops to C5 N1Y today and shortens up to 5F. February works have been great. Likes to be in the winners circle. Pablo Morales rides again for Gerald Bennett.
3rd - Exacta box 1,6,8
4th - Tri key 6/3,7,8
5th - A soft wager, Skipsilver (PP5). It looks like a 72 will be good enough to win this race (a par 77) and Skipsilver has put up a 70 and 71 in last two along with Green Turtle Cay (PP8). Should like the extra distance. Is entered for a tag for the first time. A good value play. Exacta box 5,8.
6th - A prime wager, Awesome Illusion (PP1). Dueled in last in ALW N1X, returns to claiming company today where she posted an 80 (today's par is 59) on 1/15. Given 30 days rest and now it's time to get back to the business of winning for Scace/Martinez combo.
7th - A soft wager, El Gran Tony (PP5). One more chance. Will blinkers give this 3yo the edge?
8th - Tri key 3/5,6,9
9th - Exacta box 4,6,7
10th - Tri key 5/2,6,7
11th - Exacta box 4,8,10
Good luck and good racing!
