On Thursday, my soft wager in the 4th, Samy Good Luck raced evenly, finishing out of the money. My soft wager in the 5th, Forest Grinder was well placed but had to settle for third. Ness's Forest Grinder was an ice cold 5-1 at post time, a clear indicator that the horse was not well meant yesterday. My soft wager in the 6th, Wild Turk won handily and paid $3.80. Among my contenders only selections my 2nd race $12 exacta box returned $34.20. So it goes...

Friday's selections:

1st - Contenders Only - Exacta Key Box 3/1,4 and Trifectas 3/8/1,4

2nd - Contenders Only - Stephen's Trick (6). Nice cleaan record. Gatis wins 25% with Shippers + types. Always at or near par on a fast surface. Psychic Star (1) has not won in 18 months, would wake up for Cooper now and then. Florida Boy (2) drops to lowest level ever and Camilo wins 40% with two class dropdowns. Has won a dirt route in the past. Premier Take (9). Always sub-par but very reliable. Hard to leave out for a piece. Exacta Key Box 6/1,2,9

3rd - Contenders Only - Trifectas 1/4/All and Saver Exactas 4/1 and 8/1

4th - Contenders Only - Exacta Box 3/12 and Trifectas 3,12/1,2,7,8/3,12

5th - Contenders Only - Exacta Key Box 8/2,5 and Trifectas 8/3,4,9/2,5

6th - Contenders Only - Exacta Key 6/4,7 and Trifectas 6/1,2/1,2,4,7

7th - A soft wager, Straight Laced (7). Last inexplicable. Usually above par and with lots of early speed. Been working well. Gerry Bennett has no problem with the Turf to Dirt or Dropdown angles. Switches to Ramgeet. ML of 8-1 is extraordinarily generous. Trifectas 7/4/All, Saver Exacta 4/7 and Saver Exacta Key Box 7/2,9

8th - Contenders Only - Trifectas 14/5,7/2,5,7,9 or 5,7/2,5,7,9/2,9 if the 14 doesn't get in.

9th - Contenders Only - Trifectas 8,9/8,9/All and Saver Trifectas 5,7/8,9/8,9

10th - Contenders Only - Exacta Box 3,5,9
