(Hello and welcome to the first time website visitor from Venezuela!)

Wednesday’s selections at http://www.thetbdhandicapper.com/ :

1st – Contenders Only – Forest Cruiser (6) was close to par in first off layoff. The 5YO dueled to mid-stretch in that one. Win (6) and Saver Exactas 1,5,8/6

2nd - Contenders Only – Invisible Cove (5) was closest to par in last two at the route and last at 7F went evenly. The 5-1 ML is generous here. Howell Road (3). Joe Ambrosia had one FTS in last two seasons and his runners always merit consideration. Has Ronnie Allen Jr. in the irons. Win (5), Saver Exactas 1,3,4/5 and Trifectas 3,5/1,4,6,8/3,5

3rd – Contenders Only – Dontlaffhespaidfor (3) shortens up and drops down for Richard Hollett and Allen sticks (leaving No Show Bill (4) behind). Beat Your Bluff was above par in 2008-2009 Tampa debut at today’s distance and had the best fig in today’s field in that one. Also shortens up here. Win (3), Saver Exacta 6/3 and Trifectas 3,6/4,5,7/3,6

4th – Contenders Only – Megabuck (4) was closest to par in last two and shortens up for Caple. Was gunning for it in both. El Supremo (12) steps up and PP12 is always tough to win from, but Centeno chooses El Supremo over Megabuck. Golden Citizen EK (9) wired the field twice in seven starts. Could keep going. Exacta Box 4,9,12

5th – Contenders Only – Count de Baran (5) had the best final fraction in last and goes for Dennis Manning, who is 5-9 on the grass this season at Tampa. Centeno jumps from the (1) to be reunited with Count de Baran. Manning/Centeno team is 4-5 ITM. Foggy Max (3) goes for Lerman who is still without a turf win this season. Roho adds value. Bonaventure Dreams (1) had best fig in last six days ago. Wasiluk is 25% ITM in the last two seasons with fastbacks. Win (5), Saver Exactas 1,3,10/5 and Trifectas 5/1,9/1,3,9,10

6th – Contenders Only - Changeinthecourse (8) just missed in last three on fast track and shortens up after closing fast last time out. KO’C/RoHo are 23-49 ITM. Skyblue Cowgirl (5) led in the stretch in last four races. Shortens up today. Griffith/Montalvo are 37-68 ITM. Arterburn has Monstrip (2) and he is 46% ITM in first three off-the-claim. CJ’s Nannie prevailed in a long drive with Miss Approval in last and Miss Approval was 2nd by a neck yesterday in C8 N3L company. Win (8), Saver 5,8 and 5,8/2,3,6/2,3,6,5,8

7th – Contenders Only – Call Me Mambo (2) won with the best fig in the field at first asking and is the horse to beat. Tobin’s Rules (3) goes for Jorge Navarro who is having a good season with 11-20 ITM. Sarina’s Mama(8) won last with a 42 (today’s par is 68), but Scace wins 42% with RB + UC types. Jean the Queen (10) also won and with a burst of late speed in last, after waiting what seemed like forever, for a seam to get thru in the stretch. Her fig was a dismal 32. Exacta Box 2,4,8 and Trifectas 2,4,8/3,5,10/2,4,8

8th - Contenders Only – Tiara Di Oro (1) is the only local horse that was ever close to par and that was in N1X victory, two back. Proctor wins 25% (50% ITM) with shorten ups. Centeno sticks. Negative inside bias is history. Dageurreotype (4) also won N1X affair two back and goes for Scott. Scott wins 22% (37% ITM) with L1-3’s. I wouldn’t call it his Achilles Heel, but Ness wins only 22% with Shippers, so Constance doesn’t turn me on. Great Squawk (5) goes for McCarthy, and she wins only 7% with shorten up types. Exacta Box 1,4 and Saver Exactas 1/2,5 and Pick 3 1/3,4/All

9th – Contenders Only – Hit Another Gear (3) has a couple of final fractions that can’t be touched by these. The jig is up for Hollett. Was supposed to win two back at 56-1 on the grass, but he broke in the air, was 15 back at the 1st Call and still tried to win, finishing 3rd by 2 ½, a very big effort. Pray for a price again today. Djeddah (4) disappointed in last after big, above par effort two back. Had lightning fast work recently. Another chance here. Win (3), Saver Exacta 4/3 and Trifectas 3,4/1.2.5.6/3,4

10th - Contenders Only – See 8th race Pick 3 1/3,4/All

Good luck and good racing!

Johnny B.
