Results 6-16 +$16.20 (6-2-0)
Yesterday, Barney Smith closed like a monster to win the fifth handily, paying a healthy $7.20 to win. When they took winless Rocco off and put up red hot Rosemary Homeister, I knew I was alive. Brittany's Honour was no factor in the last race, meaning, Mr. Fontana did not feel like making a withdrawal today. There were three winners whose last race was up north (where its chilly like in Florida yesterday) and three speedballs on the front end, par for the course, and that's all I have to say about that.
This afternoon, Bobbie's The Best (PP3) gets the nod in the second race. She blew away half the field on 12/22 with an above par 64 and the other half comes out of a non-descript race where the biggest figure coming out of that race by one of today's entrants was a subpar 46. That leaves Sexy Romance, who is yet to win her third race lifetime in this company. Javier Contreras flags us of his intentions with the fastback and he's regularly in front with his second starts at the Downs. Carlos Montalvo will try to make it two in a row after a good nights sleep. Watch the board though. Bobbie could bring the worst price of all time!
In the fourth, I'm looking for Stash The Boots to win big. In his last, Stash the Boots was beaten by Prince Nick (whose already come right back to win another) and narrowly defeated Hurry Up Hilliard who also won his next start handily. Shortening up from 7F to 6F shouldn't hurt this veteran campaigner whose got 272K in lifetime earnings. If Kathleen DeMasi does no harm to the animal off the claim, he should be ready for a peak performance today.
Good luck and good racing!
Johnny B.
