Results 16-69 (23%) -$40.00 (16-5-9)
Big Diesel wins paying $9.80. I hope someone had the early double ($318). Hot Foot Slew finished third, was outkicked late, beaten by a length as the second choice in the 4th. Too Many Sins finished second as the 1-2 favorite and had a rough trip being boxed and forced to steady through the turn in the eigth. So it goes...
On Saturday, in the 3rd, Syndicate Road (PP4) figures. The lighty raced 6yo owned the place last year and just hung first time over on 1/12. Shortens up a 1/16 of a mile this afternoon for veteran trainer Duane Knipe who's still looking for his second win at the meeting. Syndicate Road will be claimed today. I'll play a 4/10/3,6,7 trifecta key in the 3rd.
In the 5th, Seducing Mr. G. (PP2) gets a play, just for the value we're bound to get today. Almost always above par (54), Mr. G has a clean record and has performed well under a variety of conditions, takes a nice drop today. Last was inexplicable to me. Another chance on Saturday.
In the 9th, it's another optional claiming sprint on the dirt at 6F. Miltos Express (PP7) gets the nod again after a big effort on 1/8. If you recall, I lost her that day, as she was not the favorite, a condition I required before making her my choice (due to the statistical proababilities of an optional claimer winning the race). Today, she gets the play either way. That last performance was about seven lengths above par and anything near that should keep these at bay today for Ness and Centeno. I'll play a straight exacta with L's Lightning (PP3).
Good luck and good racing!
