Yesterday, Sacrifive Bunt raced evenly at 1-2 (are they kidding us?) and Paradise Dancer lacked a late response at even money in the feature. So it goes...
On Sunday, a soft wager in the first. Watson I Need You (PP9) lost three lengths after being taken up at the top of the backstretch in last, will prevail if he can get those three back today. Another chance at rock bottom level for this gelding who couldn't make it on the New York circuit. The stretchout is the only question mark in my mind. Montalvo rides again for Kathleen O'Connell. Sonic Cat (PP5) completes the exacta.
In the fourth, a soft wager. Ruby's Red Socks (PP3) has improved with each start this season for McBride, appears ready to pop on the drop (from C12500 to C8000). I'll key on him with the 4,6 & 8 in the tri.
In the sixth, Buddha Pass (PP8) notches his third consecutive win for Jamie Ness. This field is just weak enough for Buddha to make it three in a row. Ness will lose him today, but not before cashing three checks.
In race eleven, a soft wager. Girl Power (PP3) wins for struggling veteran trainer Ida Paquette. Usually above par (45), Girl Power gets lasix for the first time this afternoon and may power up on the miracle drug. Last was OK, Dooley gets another chance to bring her home. Lite Dreams (PP10) shortens up slightly and plans on being in front in the final furlong. I'm boxing these two in the exacta.
Good luck and good racing!
Johnny B.
