On Sunday, Optimistic won handily and paid $5.20. In my contenders only selections, I had the winner of the 2nd ($6.40) and the third ($6.40) but nothing else clicked. That's why I only make serious wagers on my prime and soft wagers. So it goes...

We find out on Sunday in the papers that War Pass, the 1-20 favorite who finished last in Saturday's Tampa Bay Derby had a fever on Friday. Translation: They stole the peoples money! What a disgrace.

Tuesday's selections:

1st - DD 4,8,9/6

2nd - A soft wager, Show Boatin' (PP6). Show Boatin' is very reliable sort, ITM 8 of 10. Stopped in last in ALW N1X after being on the lead for four panels. Previous two were an 81 (also in ALW N1X) and a 73 for the win in C8 N3L. Today's par is 71. Almost always races at or above par. Drops to open C5 today and is clearly the one to beat. Ness and Centeno team up for another win. The Event Planner (PP2) has been improving, excuse last. Dennis's Dream (PP9) will have raced 7 times in 8 weeks and unless he's ready to add a sulky and start trotting that's too many starts for my liking. But he could pop again. I'll bet 6 to win.

3rd - Exacta box 2,4,10

4th - A soft wager, Baradore (PP2). Baradore was above par in last three (55-46-49) and today's par is 45. Has eight seconds to his credit. Strongly figures to win for Criollo/Mata this afternoon and graduate from the N2L condition. Show Me Baby(PP9) needs only marginal improvement to be up for second. Bet 2 to win and a 2,9 exacta box for a saver.

5th - Tri key 2,4/2,4/5,10,14

6th - Tri box 1,2,7,8

7th - Exacta box 7,9,14

8th - Exacta box 2,7

9th - A soft wager, Robin des Concorde (PP1). Right back for Dale Bennett. Last was a 78 (in a par 66) for the win. Has had a nice rest. Posted a bullet work on 3/11 at 5F. Centeno rides again. I'll bet win and an exacta key 1/2,7,10.
