On Sunday, in the 5th, my soft wager,Wild Inquiry won like a champ and paid $15.00. In the 8th, Best Westerner was bested by 35-1 Inside Zone but saved the place. Among my contenders only selections, my 3rd race $12 exacta box returned $32.80. My 4th race $12 tri box clicked for $83.00. So it goes...

I'll be at Tampa Bay Downs on April 27, 28 & 29 touting my 2008-2009 par times, and trainer profiles, as well as my handicapping classes for those who want to learn to make their own figs using the projection method. On Tuesday, I keep thinking that the bomb makers, including Juan Camilo, Charles Fontana, Forrest Kaelin, Bernell Rhone, Lynn Scace and of course Carl Cooper, are all getting itchy to make at least one more score before the sun goes down on the 2007-2008 season. On the other hand, Tuesday looks like a good day for the chaulk. The horses that figure should be there on Tuesday. So bet the chaulk and hook them up for a couple of bucks with the putover kings (and queens). I'll footnote the bomb makers in parens for the rest of the season.

1st - DD 1,9/9 and 1,9 exacta box (What's with Barnhill and his middle aged maidens?)

2nd - Exacta wheel All/9 (as a saver if we're alive in the double) (Cooper)

3rd - Exacta box 6/1,2,8 (Rhone)

4th - Exacta box 1,3,8

5th - Tri key 3,11/3,11/1,4,14

6th - Exacta box 2,4,9

7th - Exacta box 1,3,5 and a Tri key 3/1,5/1,5 (Cooper, Scace)

8th - A soft wager, Tytus (PP7). This $25,000 Ness claim is second only to Lookinforthesecret when it comes to delivering this season. Returns to a sprint after a well deserved five week rest. A bullet work last week is a very positive sign. Centeno rides again. I'll bet win and an All/7 exacta wheel for a saver. Maraquero (PP3) and Curious Tiger (PP8) wowed us in '06 & '07. Steelix (PP4) could be tough, but is he ready? (Scace)

9th - Exacta box 3/4,5,8 and DD 3/4 (Baradore had no chance after avoiding pile up in last.)

10th - Exacta box 4/3,10
