On Wednesday, my two soft wagers finished second, but this cloud had a silver lining as my $6.00 saver exacta in the 8th returned $39.40. Among my contenders only selections, my $4 exacta box in the 6th returned $26.60. So it goes...
On Saturday, the fields are growing smaller and the jockey colony is shrinking as we continue to wind down, but there are still opportunities for those who are patient.
Saturday's selections:
1st - Exacta box 7/2,4 and DD 7/1,2
2nd - Exacta box 1,2 and Trifectas All/1,2/1,2
3rd - Tri box 3,5,6,7
4th - Exacta box 2,3
5th - Exacta box 9/4,7,10
6th - Exacta box 5/1,4,11
7th - Exacta box 4,8
8th - Straight trifectas 1/4,9/4,9
9th - Exacta box 2,4 and trifecta box 1,2,4,6
10th - A soft wager, Grand Assassin (PP1). GA drops to the ALW N1X condition after a very tough race in N2X on 4/12. In that race, Grand Assassin put up a solid effort, finishing 1 3/4 lengths behind the winner after flying early fractions of 21.2 and 44.4. Camilo wanted the bomb last time at 26-1 but will have to settle for 5-2 this afternoon. P Gonzalez rides. Bet win and DD's 1,8/1,6.
