Results 8-29 -$1.80 (8-3-0)
On Friday, DeRoode ran second, Jaunty Gale was put away by Cut For Luck who paid $61.20 for the win, Big Diesel was ready and was ridden poorly by HQ Rodriguez, who checked Diesel several times entering the turn. Big Diesel gets another play next time out.
My timing with Cooper is always out of sync. Yesterday, he put Egerton over, $24.00 for the win. This afternoon his Fizzy Pop tries to repeat. Stay tuned.
In the seventh on Saturday, Lookinforthesecret and He's So Chic will be banging heads all the way around making room for D'artagnans'spirit (PP7) to nip them both at the wire from off the pace. The Secret is a crowd favorite at TBD and is sure to have everyone rooting for him. The Secret's last was a 73 by my calculations while Put Back The Shu put up an 83 on the same race day. Was the Secret under wraps? We'll have to see. I've got the Big D (PP7) on top and the Shu (PP5) for second.
In the ninth, Danzeagle (PP6) gets the nod. Coming right back off a win with an above par effort in open C5, Danzeagle looks to make it two in a row for McBride. Montalvo rides again. Po Purr E. won her last while tiring and now enters open company after an N3L victory. Nothing much to be excited about there. Dig for Dinner looks OK but PP12 hasn't had a winner in 8 race days and only 1 in the last 12 race days.
In the 11th and final, Fleet Storm (PP3) wins. Fleet Storm is long overdue and put up an above par 72 in his last on 12/28 and previously had been racing against better. Syndicate Road (PP11) has a big question mark next to his name, but PP11 has had only one winner this season (and costing me dearly) when Replete won a maiden event on 12/30 paying $3.80. The second choice in that race was 6-1. I try to avoid wishful thinking when it comes to post positions that are clearly COLD.
Good luck and good racing!
