On Saturday, Ashley and I scratched in the 5th. In the 7th, Holiday Moment was gaining on longshot Trade Me ($22.20) with every late stride, but could not get up in time and was second. In the 9th, Breeze Keeper was out of the money. In the 12th, Bubble Berry prevailed and paid $6.20. Among my contenders only selections, I clicked for $48.20 with the fourth race exacta box and I had the late double for $20.20. So it goes…
On Sunday, only two races which are not of the maiden or NXL variety, so take it easy. These nine races are the kind that deplete your bankroll and make it nearly impossible to remain solvent.
1st - DD 5,8/2
2nd - Exacta box 1,2,5
3rd - Exacta key 1/2,8
4th - Exacta box 2,7,9
5th - Exacta key 6/1,3
6th - Exacta box 2,5,8
7th - Trifecta 6,13/6,13/1,4,9
8th - A soft wager, Aqua Azul (PP1). AA broke her maiden at 6F during the first week of the 2007-2008 season and her handlers have been reaching for the sky in her last four which included a 65K Stakes, a route on an off track, and a route on the grass, both in ALW N1X. The remaining race was at 6F in ALW N1X and in that race AA showed good early speed (in a race with fast fractions). She drops to C12500 N2L today at 6F again and sheds 7 lbs. with Monserrate up. Should put these away for win number two.
