On Wednesday, in the 3rd, Put Back the Gold gave way after pressing the pace for 5F and finished out of the money. In the 8th, Fierce Advocate, my across the board soft selection, could not best the razor sharp Tricks of Glory and finished second paying $5.40 & $5.20 for place and show respectively, but my $4 saver exacta wager returned $33.00. In my contenders only selections, the first half of my early double scratched, but my selection for the second half of the DD won and paid $6.80. My $4 exacta wager in the 9th, clicked for $14.60. So it goes...

2nd - Tri key 2,5/2,5,8/2,5,6,8
3rd - Exacta box 6,7 (Dale Bennett was 42% win and 92% ITM with drop downs last season.)
4th - A soft wager, Ontherockswithsalt (PP3). Salty drops from ALW N1X to C16 N3L today and that's from a par 74 to a par 61. Expect an improvement of about 5 lengths this afternoon. Has already posted two best figs in the field in two sprints at the Downs this season. With 14 race days left to the season, opportunities for a win are growing scarce. The fastback is a good sign from Ruth Cook who really wants this one. Jesse Garcia rides again. Bet win and a 3/4,9 exacta box for a saver.
5th - Exacta box 5,8,10 (Volcanic Force (PP2) was scratched by the track vet nearing the starting gate last time entered - caveat emptor.)
